Cargo manager, Rod Zimmerman says that they have had everything there, owls, potbelly pigs, panthers, lions, even koala bears. It’s been like Noah’s Ark, he adds.

Animals that aren’t allowed to travel in the cabin are cared by Petsafe staff members 24/7 during stopover at O’Hare international airport.

180 animals a day, 4000 per month approx.!

The animals are kept in a comfortable temperature, fed walked, sometimes they are even hugged and fondled to relieve stress concerned to travel.

The compartment is made pet-friendly, I.e. it is temperature controlled and pressurized, once a pet is on the plane. Whether it is 100 degrees, 10 degree or below zero, the service is available round the clock, says the team. In order to race up and meet this specific requirement of the customer, even other airlines are working on same programs including Delta.
