Find Your Lost Pet With This New App

Lost Pet Find App

Apps for finding lost pet? This is exciting, but how will it know my dog exactly? Relax! Algorithms will make out one dog's face from another.

Gone are the days, where we used to see pets missing on power poles and other visible areas. With the advent in technology, now you can easily find out your lost dog or cat without much ado.

John Polimeno, the CEO of finding rover says “Anybody can become a hero and find the lost pet with the help of an app.

KCRA-TV hearsay that Finding Rover is a latest, free facial recognition app designed for pet owners.

You can leave your contact number; even post a reward to whoever will find the pet, just the same info you would post on a poster.

With 98% accurateness, algorithms are used to identify one dog from another. The designers believe they are on the right track towards identification process.

“Every shelter in the area will be checked by the app to see if your pet has been picked up,” said Polimeno. “We get a feed from all the shelters with pictures of the pets.”

The good news is that, just about 700 lost pets are found in the last 18 months, with the help of this app.

“Approximately 5000 dogs are brought to our shelter and roughly 25% are picked up their owners,” said Gina Knepp, Sacramento Front Street Animal Shelter.

With the help of this app, things are going to change, he added. And luckily, in a month or two, this app will also be available for cats.
